Feeding more than one pinkie per feed

Have a lovely candy cane hatch around 5 months. Although I don't have any real probs with him feeding, I sometimes feel he is still hungry. I feed him a smallish pinkie, twice a week-if he still seems to want more is there anything wrong with giving him another?

How big is the bump the first pinky leaves? Our snakes are about the same age & I just bumped him up to two pinkies a week (every 7 days) & he is getting his first fuzzy next week.

If you feel he is still hungry, or the bump is not that big offer him two at next feeding. :D

Two Pinkies_too much!!!

Thanks for your reply Preita,
tried my little guy on two which he readily accepted and I was very pleased. Unfortunately he regurgitated them the following day. Since then he has refused food, but he is coming up to shed so I'm not too concerned. Think for now I will stick with the single pinkie twice a week. Can't believe yours is ready for fuzzies. My last corns I was always worried I would feed them something too big and cause injury, but am determined this time around not to be so cautious. :puke01:

My 2 month old 1.0 butter acts the same way as yours. I feed my hatchlings 2 pinkies every 4 or 5 days. I make sure he "went" before I feed him again. He can easily eat 3 pinkies, but when I saw him, he looked too full.

Move him up to fuzzy there is more nutrition in fuzzy than pinky's

Please check out the health issues/feeding problems forum. At the top please read the sticky and Kathy love FAQ on regurges before you feed again.
