Feeding question

I'm new to this forum and I couldn't find an existing thread that answered this. The pet store I bought my corn snake at told me that if I feed him every other week instead of every week he will live longer. Does anyone know if this is true?

It's false. How often you feed your snake has no relation to how long it will live unless you severely overfeed it or severely underfeed it. Feeding an adult Corn Snake an appropriately sized mouse every 7 to 10 days is pretty standard.

babies are usually fed every 4-7 days, with an increase in the amount of time between feedings as they grow...My adult males are fed every 7-14 days, breeding females 7-10 days...

maybe the store thinks if you feed half as much it will live twice as long ;)

When you use Photobucket copy the IMG code and paste it in your message.
You can also use the html code: html code here.
Check this out; helpful.

Don't be sorry. I was new to this stuff once too, do NOT go directly to jail.
Feed that snake an adult mouse once a week. It is a little thin, but not so bad. It shouldn't have that "pointy" spine showing, that's what I think from the photo, but it doesn't look so starved. Some more pics, or an actual weight and age would help the more experienced people here help you. I've only cared for one snake for a long time, some of these people do this for a living. You SO found the right place.
When it gets older it will slow down, you'll feed it less.
Just hang out here and by that time you'll know what's what.
