feeding size for 10 month old

recently been feeding my 10 month old medium mice once a week, she takes them fine and digests well. just wanted to know what everyone else was feeding theirs, as i know some are feeding smaller than that at 10 month??

Um... I'm no expert on feeding, I've only had my snake a month or so. She's 16 months, 82 grams, feeding on 2 fuzzies a week but need to move up to hoppers.
I would think that an adult (older than your snake) would be eating an adult sized mouse once per week, or even every 10+ days depending...
My guess is that it sounds a little large. Any photos of your snake?

Medium adult mice? Those would be quite large for any of my yearlings. How much does she weigh? At 10 months old, my snakes were taking large fuzzies or hoppers.

Hi guys :) yeah im as baffled as you are... i just tried to measure her and she is 28inch to 30inch just now, i feed her every week last 2 weeks have been a jump from small mice to medium. she takes them well and there is a noticable bulge but it is gone in 2 days. sheds and eats perfect every time. she is still quite slender in terms of girth but length seems normal for that age?... unless im going to have a big snake on my hands:)... ill post a pic to giv u an idea

When did you get her? If you didn't get her as a hatchling, maybe the previous owner wasn't sure and guessed, or lied? :S Not sure!

It is plausible for a 10 month old to eat medium mice. You have to remember depending on who is selling the mice medium mice could be our weaned and I have had a number of babies on weaned by a year. On the other hand I have had a number of babies still on fuzzies at a year as well. I think she is growing great and is a very pretty snake BTW.

I got her from a snake breeder so she was 10 weeks old when i got her, she has always been a great eater never missed a feed even when in shed! so i might just continue what am doing because there are no signs that she is unhealthy as a result. Cheerz Christen :)

Feed her something that is ~1.5 times the widest part of her body once a week. Feed her that until you no longer see a lump, then move up to a larger prey size, and continue until you no longer see a lump, then next size up, etc etc.

It's a little pointless to compare what your 10 month old snake is eating compared to another 10 month old snake. Snakes are like people and grow at different rates. Plus your definition of a medium mouse may be different than some one else's definition of a medium mouse.
