This couple is Sid n Nancy who if anyone remembers when i first came here, I rescued from someone who neglected them terribly for fear of being bit. They are now both happy in a 55 gallon tank. Last spring they had eggs but they handt hatched, so this year i hope to have better luck.

I know everyone says feeding time should be seperated but with the aid of my girlfriend we manage to get them both fed and have only had one scare.

They've been housed together since they had them and since Ive gotten them and they always cuddle.

Are you sure there "cuddling" isnt a dominance issue? Nice amels though.

Oh boy.

Nice snakes.

That's all I'm gonna say....cuz I know someone is going to say it anyway.

They always hide out together, there are 2 nice hiding spots in their home and they're always together unless one is out and about. Never any fighting, biting, or any violence that Ive ever seen.

how about it i take the words right out of your mouth.............you know, save you some stress. :grin01:

Q: Can I house two snakes together in the same cage?
A: No! This is the eternal debate here on cornsnakes.com, and there is normally a post about this every week or two. There are literally hundreds of threads about this, and linked are a few of them. If you need an explination why, do a search. The top of the list is cannibalism, disease/parasite transmission, refusal to eat, and a variety of other things.

Ive read up on this on numerous levels. I understand the risks. I have had them for a year and a half, and the person before me had them housed together in a MUCH smaller tank.

As stated Ive never had ANY issues of agression towards one another, and the only problem Ive had feeding them was prior to mating and that was only the female and I thought that was normal and havent had a problem aside of that.

Disease and parasites would have to be brought in by an outside source wouldnt they? and I keep the tank rather clean IMO.

I understand where you all are coming from and the vast experiance all of you have, but perhaps I have found the exception to the rule?

everbody is their own person and can make their own decisions......as you have. i know of a few people that either did or do keep snakes together but those are usually from hatchling to yearling ages. i hope all does stay well with your snakes and the way you keep them as all anybody wants is what's best for the animals. nobody can or will force you to do anything, just make sure you keep an eye out on the situation at all times. good luck to you.

p.s. all i ask is that you not start a thread down the road about a problem stemming from cohabitation. i know, guaranteed, there will be some :flames: :twoguns:
