feeding while with eggs-question

Of course!! They need to be fed even more than what they usually eat. We fed our gravid female 2 adult mice each feeding instead of one which is what she usually eats. When it gets really close to laying time, some may refuse food. Others will eats as ravenously as ever.

When they're getting pretty big with the eggs inside them, you can try offering a smaller food item than usual. It can get a little crowded in there at times, and a smaller item may be easier for a gravid female to handle near the end.

thanks for the input guys (and gals). Lucky for me she finally dumped that last slug so my baby is back to normal again. She ate a good sized mouse and looked like she wanted more.since she hasn't eaten in quite a while I'll wait until next feeding to give her two. This attempt at breeding was such a failure I'm not sure if I'll try next year.

be sure to give her less and smaller food items than normal...
egg laying is very stressful, especially when there are problems...
