Female Corn Problems =(

Never Enough!
Hey everyone this year I plan on breeding two corns a Ghost male and a Anery Female. After taking the male ghost out of hibernation he did well he is still doing well eatting every meal that comes his way.

On the other hand my Anery Female regurated 3 times and then i offered a small fuzzy on February 1st she did manage that one and pooped that one out.

Some questions I have:
When should I feed her again?
What size mouse?
Why is they a awful smell coming from her tank?
What else can I do to get her ready to breed with my Ghost Male?

All thoughts are appreciated!

If she's not doing well, do not breed her!

The smell may mean that her gut flora have gotten out of whack. How do her BMs look?

She may need a vet visit or maybe a few more extra small meals about a week apart will help her get herself "back on her feet" or whatever snakes get back onto.

Have you thouroughly cleaned the viv after the regurges? If not, that may be the cause. What does it smell like? Is it rotten, or some other smell?

Clean the cage.
Remove everything and clean it. Replace the bedding and put everything back.
Buy Kathy Love book, it covers everything from regurge to breeding. Please read the book cover to cover and over again.
In my opinion, you should have an handle on corn snake care before you start breeding. Master one before moving on.

An adult snake that has regurged 3 times and has a foul smell in it's viv needs to be seen by a vet ASAP. Don't make any attempts to breed her until she's seen a vet and is back in 100% health and condition. I would also quarantine her, just to be safe. Handle/feed/clean your male snake first. Then take care of the female. Use separate equipment for the 2 snakes to avoid spreading possible germs. Wash and sanitize your hands after doing anything with the female. And good luck! I hope she's alright.
