Female Laying right now, next step

Ok my female is in her laying box right now laying eggs, she started sometime between 8 pm and 10 pm, so far I have 13. How long should I let her be, before I transfer the eggs to the incubator? I have heard that the eggs may stick together, if this happens how do you seperate them to be able to move them? How can you tell if she is done laying, I was read that we should not disturb her no more than possible?

Congrats on your eggs! I can't help you with your questions. I have read that if the eggs are stuck together, then you leave them together. Some one else will pitch in here soon I'm sure.

we got though it. eggs are in the incubator. this is her first clutch and she has a baker's dozen...yeah

Glad everything is okay! What I would have said:

Leave the snake alone without checking her until you wake up in the morning. Remove the eggs. If they are in a clump, leave them in a clump when moving them to the egg container. (Clumped eggs are nature's way of stabilizing the clutch to prevent the eggs from rolling and to keep predators from picking off the entire clutch one egg at a time). Weigh the mom so you know how much weight she has lost. Replace the female in the lay box.

In the evening, offer the female a small meal such as a couple hoppers. Expect her to go blue almost immediately. In a day or two, offer a small adult mouse, then put her back on a 5-7 day feeding schedule, gradually spreading the interval out until she has regained her pre-gravid weight.

Relax for a couple months, and right around the time the clutch starts to hatch, provide a nest box for the female again, in case she double clutches.

basicly that is how it went except she is not showing any signs of going into shed yet. she lost 104 grams
