Female wont leave eggs.

ROCKSTAR REPTILES
I am not new to herps by far, but breeding is some what new to me. My amel. corn just laid her clutch and she wont leave the eggs. I am worried if I just go into the lay box and remove her she might get upset and possibly disturb or invert the eggs. The box is a sterilite and is filled with moist pete moss and has heat tape under one side. Its been two days and she wont budge! Should I just move her anyway?

You should remove her, I let my corns stay with their eggs for about 12 hours to make sure they are completly done laying, but more then that you risk the embryo attaching to the egg, makinig it risky to move them, when you do, make sure they stay real steady, you could risk detaching the embryo and/or moving the air pocket at the top of the egg, and that could drown them, but Ive moved eggs that have sat in the box for more then 12 hours and they all survived, just be real carfull and you should be good, good luck!

Thanks man! Shes a big girl and I was worried she might get spooked and accidently tip the eggs. Ill just have to be quick about getting her out. thanks again.

Before you attempt to take her out you can lightly mark the tops of the eggs in their original position with a pencil or felt tip pen. That way if she moves the eggs while you're getting her out you can return them to their original position. I've done this in the past and it's worked well for me. Good luck man!

When you do take her from the eggs .... offer her a drink. Like, stick the water dish right under her nose. Chances are, she'll be gasping on a drink.
