I have to go away for a week (5-7 days) and nobody will be at my house, I have a two hour drive and the temp on the tank will not regulate right unless thee is a bit of heat on in my place, my parents wanna have all heat of while gone, would it be a bad idea to take my snake with it !? I kno she don't mind it as much as the stress put on most snakes cause she was in a car for over two hourd when I got her back in septemeber she's 5 and buddy who owed her had her in a car atleast 1 or 2 everything two weeks for hour and a half drive ...

Would it be safe enough to bring her with me ..?

Don't feed her and she'll be fine without heat as long as it doesn't go cooler than around 50, I think. Taking her with might put a huge amount of stress on her though.

Also, if you can leave the UTH plugged in, as long as she can get away from it, I think she'd be fine.

I wouldn't take her, there are too many things that can go wrong. Leave her uth plugged in, just turn it down a little lower. If you can insulate the room she's in by covering the windows and door jams with towels. If you don't feed her right before you leave and give her time to digest, she may dip into a little hibernation. When you get back slowly adjust her temps back to normal and let her readjust before feeding her again.

I'd leave her where she is. She'll experience far more temperature fluctuations being moved around in a car than she will at home.

If you can scare up the funds for a thermostat sometime, that should do the job for you.

Am I the only one thinking 'however you regulate the temperature while you are there - carry on doing so while you are away' ? I personally do not agree that they are ok without heat... Certainly do agree that you should not take her with you, even if she has seemed bomb proof up until now :)

I would use uth with it regulated low.
I say that because I'm not understand your problem that it won't work right with out house heat.

Try regulating now without any house heat.

Spoken like a true college student, your spelling is atrocious.

what about a snake sitter.. i had to do that once.. its not good to drag them along with u ive done it before.. and my poor beardy was not happy with me..i ended up have to hold her bc the tank was to bouncy.. and she still wasnt warm enough.. it was awful and a bad descion she was fine in the end but i do not recommed it!! plus there have been nightmares i here from other ppl..with hotel rooms and new places..

she was fine, i left the heat on the UTH, and where the heat was only on low in my room the heat stayed between 80-85 degrees F!
