Firefly the Olive Python

I don't have a lot of time to post since we disconnected our wifi at home (I'm at the library now), but ... I thought I'd post my latest snake. I'm pretty happy about owning him, like my snake collection is finally complete. I know you are all laughing at that, but hey, I feel like it! I love my colubrids for various reasons, the boas for various reasons, etc. They all have a special place in my collection.

Firefly is a May 2015 baby Olive python. I've held his mother (15 years, 10 ft, 20 lbs) and a few others in the breeder's collection. The feel of an Olive is INCREDIBLE. I feel very lucky to have him! Firefly's dad is about 8 feet and 10 pounds.

He is as sweet as can be, too. Not as willing to sit still like a boa, but he usually settles down after curiously exploring. :)

At the last repticon I went to there were a couple of people walking around with a couple of those! They are amazing looking animals, and yours is no exception to that rule!
Thanks for sharing.

Wow! I am very curious - how do you keep them when they get fullgrown? I don't have experience with any snakes other than corns so I always wondered how people keep those super long snakes.

He is very handsome! I think his heat pits make him look like he is smiling :)

Wow! I love Olives. Congrats. What a great addition to the collection. He's beautiful.
