First Corn - Which Morph?

Here's Huey, my first corn snake, which my wife bought for me recently. He eats well and is very sociable. He's quite a hit with the whole family, me, my wife and kids. The closest match in photos on the Internet is ultramel, but I'm also thinking possible amel. But I'm just a beginner. Can someone tell me what morph Huey is?

I believe Huey is a male, because his tail bulges out noticeably just above the vent instead of being a smooth taper, but that isn't for certain, either.

Thanks! I was thinking he might be amel, from reading the description. But when matching photos, he looked more like the ultramel pics. So I'm glad to know.

Now I can start figuring out what morph I want for my next corn snake, based on what the cross would produce in hatchlings.

I've got a lot to learn, but I'm having fun!

very pretty little amel you have there! they are my one of my faves, my first corn was also an amel and i love her! :)

Great little amel you have there! About what corn to get next, get a butter. Why...well idk why thats just my favorite kind. :grin01:

I bet by the end of this year you will have at least 5 corns. Which is good! Good luck!

Cute little guy! (You could almost answer this question without even looking, couldn't you? It's _always_ an amel.) Very pretty.

Very Nice little snakey!

Hey i recently 'got into' corns. I found this book 'Cornsnake Morph Guide' to be an invaluable resource in helping me learn genetics and morphs. You can buy it from the following site. http://cornguide.com/the guide.php#buy.

Also the new book by Don Soderberg is awesome for breeding tips.

Enjoy your snake hes lovely :grin01:

lol, thanks for the test. I failed miserably. Im trying to learn all the different morphs, so i looked and though.. "hmm.. maybe a RO"
