An obsolete oldie...
Well, got my first eggs last night! From a virgin amber bred to a butter motley! Better than I could have dared hope! 19 healthy eggs, and even better a nice not too deflated female that took a little rat fuz only 20 hours after laying! HOORAY! :)

Now one day down, 59 to go...... <sigh>

Oh and in case you didn't see it, I've started a thread showing all my breedings for the year. I have a few more yet to ad and then a few after that IF I'M LUCKY, but the majority are there! ;)

Thanks for lookin'!

Not off topic, this is the general breeding section where we can learn about breeding right?! :)

Basically, approximately a month to a month and a half after the first hook up you should hope to see eggs. They often shed three weeks to a month after breeding, then on average a week after that there SHOULD be eggs. These being animals though, they often have OTHER ideas! ie. sometimes less time, sometimes more:shrugs:

I breed three times, and try doing it about two days apart. This particular pair first bred on February 6. She had her pre-egg laying shed on February 29.

Thanks for the info ...... wonder if it would help to print out corn porn pics so that the others will get the idea of what I want them to do LOL

I am so excited because thisis my first Intentional breeding :) I am so sick from the flu right now but I tell ya..... that made my night to see that :D LOL I'm an odd duck :)

I did have babies last year but they werent planned so this year we are doing everything different because they are all here and I can watch abit closer :)

Also..... I incubated last year at 82* and the first pippies started coming out at day 55 .... Would it be maybe better to incubate at a lower temp like 80* so that maybe they were grow abit more before coming out?? sorry...... yep, I'm a Noob :(
