I just gave the kids cornsnake the first pinky (well since i bought it on saturday) lol.. I defrosted it in the warm water part and it wolfed it down in seconds.. what is the best time to feed them durin the day or on a night. i put it in a carton to feed it as the place i bought it from says if you put the food in the vivarium it ends up goin for you as it thinks its gonna get fed when you stick your hand in it.. is this true??just thought i would say how great it was watchin it eat as the only place i have seen things like this is on tv lol

:cheers: Glad it went so well! It's a good idea to feed in a tub for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it means you get the chance to spot clean the viv, clean out the water bowl etc while your snake is otherwise engaged. Secondly it means no worries about impaction due to substrate being ingested along with the food. Thirdly, it's said that it means the snake becomes conditioned to expect food in it's tub, making it less likely to strike at your hand when you open the viv to handle it. Hope this helps.
 
I feed my guys in the late afternoon/early evening because that is the natural time for them to come out to hunt. Also, it gives them all evening and night for any problems to occur- and I can check them before I go to work the next day.
