First pics of Elektra

Phaedra

Witty phrase
Well, I posted pics of her in the sleeping thread but they weren't clear, so I guess these are her first pics.

She's only a normal - a carolina - but she's special to me. :)

I was told she was six months old, but her breeder has told me it's more like 4 months. I'm relieved because I thought she was a little small at 11 inches.

I have 2 normals myself, and I personally think they have some of the most striking colors. My next purchase will be hopefully an abbott's line okeetee. Normals with much broader black markings. Your baby is beautiful!

You say "only a normal" like it's a bad thing. I happen to LOVE my normal. And I personally think that normals have some striking beauty in their variable colorations.

You're gonna give your snake a complex ;).

I think she's a beauty...

I love my normal, and I think she's beautiful! When I found her outside- I thought she was the most gorgeous snake I had ever seen, glistening in the wet grass like a jewel. I couldn't believe something like that would just be out there, wandering around. Classic corns are amazing.

My son doesn't like the pale colored snakes, especially as babies, so we got a Mimai (normal).

Personally, I like the darker snakes.

Yours is very cute. COngratulations.

Glad to see better pictures of your little one. Her browns are rich looking and I like her side pattern. Personally, I think you picked out a good one :D

Thank you everybody!

I did say "only a normal", because a lot of people on here have amazing looking morphs but like I said, she's very special to me and I wuv her. The only complex I'll give her is for being the most spoiled snake in a hundred mile radius. ;)

I'm not too keen on paler morphs - I'm colourblind but very very attracted to colour, that's another reason I picked her. When I looked at the website I knew nothing about snakes, I wanted a carolina because I thought they were the prettiest (the fact that they're also the cheapest was a bonus!).

Today was a double treat, not only did I get to see her drink but I also got to see her eat. I missed her eating on Tuesday because I put the pinkie in at 11pm, waited until midnight because I had college the next day and she ate it sometime during the night.

I'm sorry the pics aren't as clear, I put her in a plastic pot for eating (I stabbed some extra, large-ish airholes in it) and I had to photograph her through the plastic lid.

And her bulge:

I couldn't believe how fast the bulge moved, this was like a minute later:

And finally, I bought her some more plants today so her viv is getting pretty crowded:

(I know, I know, I can't hold a camera straight!)

You can't see that well but she has three plants, two cork-bark hides, her water dish, three plants and a toilet roll tunnel.
