Well My name is Andrew, and I'm a python keeper more or less. I keep mainly African Rock Pythons, Burms, Bloods, and Balls. I've been basically a lurker here while deciding whether or not to get into cornsnakes. I just ordered a pair of Butter corns and they should be here within a week or so. I'm not much of a corn snake fan but butters appeal to me. I am a photographer as well. I don't have any corn snake photo's right now but here is some of my work as of now. I hope I can post other species photo's here lol. If I can't I apologize, if I can, enjoy! lol :wavey:

I would have posted more (I have plenty more) But I did not want to plague this forum with pictures. As soon as the corn snakes arrive I will definitely post pics of them!

Oh man, these pictures are awesome. I really really like Ball pythons. These are gorgeous.. What camera do you use?

I use several. I use a Nikon D50, and a D200, and I use the Canon 400D (XTi). Haha Stangs just told me you have to post them in the off topic section, so if a mod or someone wants to move this that'd be great! I do apologize.

Yeah, wrong place ;), but the pictures more than make up for the mistake. EXCELLENT pics, Andrew. I had "free range" Tokays in an apartment years ago; probably the best way to keep them lol, they were evil lil bastiges...

The photo forum is really only for corn pics; so next time post them in the chit-chat forum.

But YOWZA!!! Those pictures are amazing! How do you get your animals to stay so still? Maybe the pythons are not as active as corns or something. Let's see some pics of your butters when they come!

Being an avid amateur photographer myself I have got to give kudos - those are fantastic pictures. I wish I could upgrade to a better camera to be able to get shots like those!!

Getting them to sit still is fairly easy. Most of my animals will sit still, but the chainsaw is named for a reason, and the Cali King likes to dart off of the studio. All you have to do is make sure the animal does not have a meal in its digestive track, refrigerate a bowl just large enough for the snake to sit under, take the bowl and place if over the snake where the pictures are going to be taken, such as a studio or backdrop. Let the snake calm down, remove the bowl and take your shots. When you refrigerate the bowl, only allow the bowl to get cool enough, do not let the bowl get cold. This can cause problems letting the bowl get to cold due to sudden temp changes etc. for the snake. Thanks again for the replies, and I will make sure I post in the Off topic forum next time ;)

Excellent photos! What is the white background, and have you done any post-processing of the images?

Nanci

The white background is a little something I set up. I'm still dinkin' around with it trying to figure out everything. The glossiness of the background tends to reflect light kind of making the bellies of the animals look too bright, so its a work in progress. I can take much better photo's then these....I just need to figure everything out first lol. These were more or less test shots. The pictures were all original. They weren't edited other than the last Tokay pic. All I do is resize them and crop them....and how I got that tokay to sit still, I still don't know.
