New to Snakes
(Preemptively: Yes, I've read the other threads, but.... I'm a nervous mommy. x_X Humor me?)
Kismet is in blue for the first time today. More accurately she's in bubble-gum pink -- the eye caps are a rather attractive shade of baby's-bedroom peach, and her whole body is very pale.
Tonight is also her feeding night. She didn't seem to be jumpy when I moved her out of the tank (couldn't tell she was getting ready to shed because of the lighting in the room). Should I attempt to feed a small-small pinkie, or just wait it out? And I believe the conventional wisdom is to just skip a feeding instead of making it up once they've shed -- is that right?
I was hoping Pierce and Kismet would go at the same time for easier record-keeping, but no such luck. So I'm still going to feed Pierce tonight, since he hasn't yet gone blue.
The whole tank is pretty humid right now. I thought they were probably due for a shed, so I moved the water bowls to the warm side of their tanks. There's a decent amount of condensation on the walls, so I'm assuming it's humid enough for them. I'll admit that I don't yet have a rheostat, so I can't give you an exact estimation of the humidity, but it seems high. I'm actually worried that the bedding (aspen) will mold if I keep it like this too long.
How close is she to shedding? She's an Amel, so her eyes are usually bright-bright red, and they're currently such a light pink that it's almost white. Her whole body is incredibly pale, too. Is the blue stage coming soon? Did I miss it? I didn't handle her yesterday, so I might have missed a stage.
... And I'm sure there are common newbie questions that I need to know the answers to x_X If there's a question I've forgotten to ask, feel free to answer it anyway.
