First snake ever

I just got my first snake after a couple months of research... She is a 2'4" snow, female, with a great a attitude. Her name is Arien which means heart in Elvish. Now I want to keep track of her progress, is there a progress booklet or format that I can use to keep track of her growth and shedding and so forth.

That is very nice, darkmorning! My mom bought me a little pocket sized calender and I write down every day I feed them. I also write it on a Index Card I keep on their tank. I have their name, their morphs, their hets, and when they ate last. On another Index Card, I write down every day they shed.

I do something very similar on my computer. I track the days they eat, snake weight, weight of the mouse and any notes like regurges, when a snake goes blue or sheds.

There are a couple of software programs.

I've been using one called Degei for a while. It's fun with just a few animals, but I eventually got bogged down with so many, an djust write on a calendar. I keep track of weights, feedings, shedding, vet visits/treatments, regurges, etc.

The first one I used was Herp Care http://www.thegeckocam.com/ (Look on the left column for HCS). That one is simple.

Always back up your records.

Someone here was writing their own program- but I forgot who!

That would be me :D. Unless there was someone else that I missed.

Anyway, it's pretty stable at this point and still free. There's a link to it in my signature if you're interested.
