Amel and anery both popped up long before the hobby had hit full stride so I doubt they went for thousands. My Dad and I were snake keepers in the 70's, and it was the true dark ages. Glass tanks, hot rocks, and weighted down screen tops were de rigueur. Frozen mice weren't available (at least not at the pet shops I frequented), and most corns in stores were wild collected, presumably locally. I'd be curious to know what these early mutations sold for as well.
