Hi,everyone.First time poster!I've had my corn for approx.9 months.He/She? is 33 inches.I don't know how old it actually is.I found Sliver on the job and brought him home.I handle him three to four times a week and feed him a rat pup once a week. He's been a great addition to the family and has adjusted well to his new enviroment.

As of last week Sliver hasn't eaten! I'm probably overreacting, but he's got me kinda worried. Is this normal behavior? Two days ago his body was darker and his eyes were opaque as if he were going to shed his skin. Then yesterday his eyes were clear and I can't find any skin anywhere.

I feed him frozen rat pups, and every so often I give him a live hopper just to keep his instincts sharp. Is this proper?Another Question I have is,is it ok to let him run in the grass in the yard?

Hi there!

They do go back to their normal colour just before shedding - this is normal.

Expect a shed in the next few days.

Sliver will probably shed in the next 24-48 hours. My boy stays "in blue," which is the opaque eye color stage, for about 3-4 days and then it clears. Within 24-48 hours of that, I have a fresh shed in the cage.

It is normal for them to not want to eat so close to shedding too. If mine is in blue when I go to feed I don't even bother.

finally shed!!!

Sliver has finally shed!Had me worried for a bit.Now to see if he'll eat something?Thank you all for your advice.

Phew! It's always a relief isn't it? :)

Yes, you should be fine to offer him something to eat. Hopefully he'll now be in the mood for food as usual.
