Hi folks,

I've never kept a snake before. After a meet and greet with an 18' Retic a few months ago, I started getting an interest in snakes. The girlfriend, who's raised a couple of red tails before, was ecstatic and we made plans to pick up a boa together. While up in Phoenix for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, we decided to check out the local pet stores before we left for home because we don't have any here in town. While we were checking out the last one of the day, we met and fell in love with this Anery little guy.

And we are not disappointed. He's been awesome. After a 3 hour car ride in a sack and box, he came out calm and easy. His normal feeding night was the night we picked him up, but he didn't get a chance to eat So we set up a viv for him and let him explore it. He checked the whole thing out and then chilled in a hide with his head out to watch everything.

On Saturday he was pretty active and was looking for food. Since Friday (the night we picked him up) was his normal feeding night, we decided to feed him on Sunday, instead of later in the week. 48 hours after bringing him home and he goes into a feeding box and takes a f/t mouse no problem. Was pretty fun to watch.

We let him digest for a couple days and last night he had a good poop and came out for an hour long handling session where he was awesome. Very curious and absolutely fearless. Lots of fun.

Right now he's in a Zilla 20 gallon long (we bought the kit... then replaced most of it for being too small) aquarium using heat lamps. That's just a temporary thing though until I can build him a nice custom one, likely next month.

Greetings and welcome, nice looking fellow. Looks like he was pretty well cared for. Congrats!
