an Amber, however after seeing pics of rootbeers, I am thinking she maybe a RB instead. Which is okay...so instead of Stripe X Amber eggs I have Stripe X Rootbeer eggs... :crazy02: hmmm striped rootbeers, what a future.

. . . and just what about that snake makes it a rootbeer? Especially from looking at the pictures. I have yet to know anyone that can ID emoryi crosses 100% visually . . . :shrugs:

Herpsforu, was it the results of an emoryi/corn cross? What did the breeder tell you ti was?

I am the thrid person to own this snake. It was bought at a local show last september. She was sold to me as an amber from the show. The gentleman at the show did not breed to produce her. He purchased her from a breeder...so who knows...

However from comparision pics of other Rootbeers and from looking at Aphrodite, I am not conviced she is an Amber...But it doesn't matter to me what morph she is as we LOVE her anyway...

It's so difficult to tell from appearances on a computer monitor. Obviously breeding her to an amber, a caramel het hypo or a hypo het caramel will help clear things up in regards to whether or not she's an amber. Or breed her to just a caramel or just a hypo. That could help, too. I hope to see these babies in Sept at Hillsboro (or sooner! wink, wink).

Well from the pics I'd have to agree that there's the possibility she's not Amber (looks to have more silver in her background and not nearly enough yellow coloration).

I'm just befuddledized every time somebody says something is a rootbeer or creamsicle based on looks. :shrugs: It's one of the things that I have specifically asked about in the past, and it's purt near impossible. There are no definite tells so to speak as the same things that a hybird 'may' show also show up in pure corns quite regularily.

Sorry, Paris, for making this a hybrid topic thread! LOL

I think the place most Emoryi influence shows up (if and when it's noticable) is in the face. Emoryi's, to me, have a different look in the face. Sometimes it screams at you (like my creams and RB do), but D80 is right that you can't usually tell by a visual.

I agree that the color looks off for an amber, from what I've seen of them. Maybe she's het amber and someone forgot the "het" as she was being sold down the river..... :)

Well, in the other thread the snake looked more different form regular corns. On this pic she looks more like corn, but no amber. But seeing the other thread, made me ask about the toorbeer thing, not this pic.
