Found Him!

I just wanted to let eveyone know that I found my baby snake! It actually never left the viv. I bought a log that he can hide in and that is exactly what he did! You can't even see him when looking into every crevice of that log! I went out today and bought another corn snake (baby). That must have made my first snake come out! Now I have 2! Thanks, Bye!

Yay! Glad that he wasn't missing afterall! They are quite the sneaky hiders, aren't they?

I'm wondering if you're keeping them together in the same viv? If you do a search on "co-habbing" you'll see why this is not the best idea, especially when they're young and hungry.

When do we get to see pics of your new baby?

LOL....I went through the same thing last night! I put my baby back in his viv after some playtime. I set him on his climbing log. A went back to say good night and he "wasn't" on the log. So I kinda dug around (he loves to go underground) and nothing. I couldn't find him anywhere. I was starting to panic, and I called for my husband. Fortunately, I looked up and out of the corner of my eye I caught him curled up were to pieces of wood meet. I laughed at myself for quite a while! Darn little stinker! i knwo Cyrus was laughing at me, I just know it!

Same here. My log was a resin one and I lost Rubes in it. When she eventually came out I put the log in the fish tank.

Before I put the snakes together I read up on it on the web. It said as long as they are the same size, it is okay to have 2 together. They are the same size and color for that matter.

That's the thing, it could seem okay, but it is not. Co-habbing is something that's seriously risking the life of BOTH of your snakes. Cannibalism is more prevalent in younger snakes (I lost a snake like this, so this is the voice of experience here). And then if one does eat the other one, it's likely that you'll wind up having a sick snake on your hands because of too large a meal, and will likely die, or regurg and possibly not recover from this. I'm not going to lie to you: it has been done successfully, but there are far many more instances where either one or both of the snakes die.

OMG! Thanks for everyone's help. I didn't plan on having 2 snakes to begin with. I thought the first snake was gone forever. All of a sudden I have 2 and only one viv. I will tell my Mom we need to separate them asap. :crazy01:

Start checking out craigslist and sites like that. There's usually some cheap vivs on there.

I wish I lived closer....I have an extra viv after upgrading Cyrus! Along with Craigslist (which is were I got Cyrus' new viv) check thrift stores. That is were I got his first viv for like $6.00. Good Luck!

Hello, I'm Katie, the girl you bought the first one from. I'm so glad you found him, I told you he was probably still in there. I sent your mom an email with some info. And I remember your mom saying you had a pretty big tank so splitting it in half like that would be great then you can put one heat pad in the middle and remember to get a thermomstat it's very important, but don't get the one they sell at petsmart they don't work. Feel free to email or PM me if you need anything else.
