Free Amber Pet

Alaya

Crazy Alaskan
Free Amber corn for a pet home. He has a kink (doesn't seem to affect eating and pooping at all), and just has never grown. He needs a calm home where he can grow a bit more. He does ferociously eat everything that is offered.

Free, if you pay shipping. I reserve the right to be picky about where this snake goes.

$50 for packaging and shipping, and I could ship next Monday. He (sex confirmed) is a good snake, just needs a pet home.

Do you know why he hasn't grown? My only worry would be thati get him then he passes. I would just be devastated.

No, I do not know why he hasn't grown. He however, has remained strong, and eats ferociously. I do not believe he will pass anytime soon.

FWIW, I have had a few that just wouldn't grow, even they were voracious eaters. All of them ended up having growth spurts at one point or another and turned out just fine.

I really think its not that much different with people, you see 6ft 4th graders and 4ft 10th graders, but most eventually level off or catch up.

Sorry for the thread hijack, just thought I'd add my 2¢.

Also, What About 82637, If You Haven't Given Him Away Yet? And You Said He Has A Kink? Could You Point Out Where Please, As i Can't See Where It Is?

Still available, going on a quick trip, will have quotes as soon as I get back. Sorry about the delay.

The kink is very minor and in the last third of the body.

That is a valid concern. I kept a granite I hatched with a minor kink that did grow well and he passed unexpectedly at about a year old. Not trying to be a downer but anyone giving a home to a baby with kinks has to know that they may not make it to adulthood.

I have a little boy that had a wee kink by his tail.
I thought that it was so very strange that although he was eating a pink mouse every 5-7 days he was teeny tiny!! He looked months old instead of just over a year!
Well I am pleased to say that after having him for over a year he has gone on a major growing spree in the last few months, he is growing like a weed his kink is no longer noticeable at all. I do not know if they can grow out of them but it seems like mine did. I have no concerns now that he will prosper and grow to be a healthy adult. It just took much longer! :)
I hope this is the case with your sweet little boy!
Michelle

One of mine actually has a kink at the end of her tail no it is so slight, I don't even think her breeder noticed it. In between her (I got her brother and one more the same age at the same time) and the other two, she continues to be my fastest growing baby. She's nearly 1.5 times her brother's size. Some just have these quirks. Hopefully, this little one will hit a spurt! :D

So they're pretty much like any other living organism since the beginning of time. Difficult to predict the future for any organism. I'm surprised I've made it this far.

IDK, Dave, I've not personally hatched a healthy corn, raised it and had a sudden death, but maybe my experience is too little and based on too little a smaple. The kinked granite did well until about a year, when it stopped growing and suddenly died. Whether the kink indicated other internal problems I'll never know.
I wouldn't feel worried about buying a well started corn from any good breeder, but if I was giving a home to a non-growing baby with a kink I would personally feel it's chances of reaching adulthood could be less than normal.
Of course it would depend on the size and location of the kink. Scout's was mid-body and very noticable, so maybe compromised his internal organs.

Shipping to 99163 or 82637 is $50.

The kink is very minor to the point of where the original breeder missed it. The person currently caring for all of my snakes, including this one, is a very experienced breeder and cannot find it either. Likely the snake just needs more regular meals than the rest of my babies, but I make no guarantees. I am offering this as a free pet because of the risk.

This little amber still hasn't found a pet home! The person caring for my snakes at the moment cannot find the kink anymore, and he's fattened out a bit, so he should be a great pet. Free to a good home!

Unfortunately that is a decent price for shipping. We ship priority overnight so it isn't actually that bad considering the distance they have to go sometimes.
