Here's a funny story.

I thought that i would place an advert in my local free ad newspaper stateing that if anyone had any pet mice that they wanted rid off to call me, and i left my number.

The advert came out 2 weeks ago and i only received 1 call, it was from a youngish couple who stated that they kept them in fish tanks in the shed, those of you who are observant will notice i said "tanks".

"when theres too many in one tank my husband gets another from work and we just get a big handfull a place them in the other tank, said the lady on the phone, if you want them you can take them and the tanks for free it will save us a few £.

I tell you that when i went to their house and went in the shed i nearly fainted, here is what i got...........

5 x 36 inch long tanks.
64 female mice(most pregnant).
119 male mice.
231 babies(pinkies/fuzzies).

I culled...................109 male mice,
14 females(not preg)
231 babies.

nowThats what i call a bargain ,all for the price of £10 petrol.

p.s with 28 eggs due to hatch, just in time too.

 (speechless)....

so how many tanks did they have?

how did they feed all those mice? they must eat through a couple 20 lb bags of rice a day.

free fod

There was 5 tanks.

I dont know about in the states but over here we can buy boxes of broken biscuits, well they were feeding one of these boxes a day plus dog biscuits and house hold scraps,i think they just got a few to start with and didnt realise how fast they breed, they said they had only had them for about a year.

The complete bottom of each tant was covered in mice,it was quite funny to see but sad also that so many animals were kept together.
