Frogs as corn snake prey?

Hi

I know generally frozen pre-killed mice are used to feed corns, but where i come from they're not easily obtained.
I've recently obtained a blood corn, around a year old. the owner said that it's been feeding it mainly on blue frogs ( the kind used to feed large fish), and birds occassionally. Are blue frogs a suitable, adequate source of food for corns? any suggestions for alternative food source?

Well small frogs and lizards would be a wild corn's first meals in the wild. As to if they are as nutritious as a rodent I would not know.

If the breeder hasn't seen any adverse effects from feeding frogs then I would guess it's ok. Seeing as you have access to the internet though, why not order mice online? I can't imagine frogs being very cheap compared with mice (but I've never bought frogs before so what would I know, right!? ;) )

yup i was considering mice online...but...think there will be shipping problems..not even too sure it's legal here ( singapore) in the first place ( though i cannot imagine why not) .

another slight problem i've been having with him. His defecation is..well rather small and alil watery..like a birds. is that normal? if not what should i do about it?

Snake poop is very much like bird poop

However, I would obtain live mice (you only need one preggo female) and start a colony. It costs next to nothing to upkeep and you will have more mice than you know what to do with (except freeze) in no time. Amphibians aren't seen much in stomach counts of w/c corns, mostly lizards, rodents, birds and their eggs. That's not to say that they aren't nutritious, IF the corn will eat them readily. But being someone who raises both mice and frogs, I can state for the record that it costs WAY less to breed and raise mice. And frogs are much more delicate, comparitavely.
Besides, frogs are cute! ;) Seriously, I've found that hognosed I've fed toads have foul-smelling stools, and you don't even want my description of how a thawed, uneaten frog smells the next day!
