What a bad week this has been. I started this hobby in January, and was so proud of myself for researching, following advice... I don't post a lot of questions here, mainly because 99% of my questions have already been answered in previous threads. But I read this forum constantly and really prided myself on doing so well with my snakes. Then Starkist, one of my '09 normal girls escaped - my own stupid fault for not making sure the tank lid was tightly fastened. And our little ghost-girl Luna died. Just out of the blue. She refused to eat last week, and I figured she was getting ready to shed. When my daughter picked her up the other night, she seemed unusually lethargic. She stopped breathing and went limp right there in my daughter's hands. I am at a complete loss as to why she died. I know these things happen, but you can't help but feel guilty when a creature is 100% dependent on you for its well-being and it dies. As for Starkist, there's evidence that she's still lurking in the house, so all hope is not dead yet... If she were to get out of the house, at least she's a normal - brown and black - so she stands a better chance of survival than if she were bright orange and white like my candy cane. I think I'm probably just trying to make myself feel better by saying that... OK, just needed to mope a little bit..
