frozen/thawed pink mink?

A friend of mine works in a mink farm, and said they euthanize a lot of their baby mink that come about through the year, and I could have them before they kill them if I wanted them for my snakes.
Would these be okay for corns to eat? I don't see why they wouldn't be but better safe than sorry.
roughly what size should the snake be before trying to eat these things? mine are barely month old hatchlings, so I imagine it wouldn't be for awhile...
I think he said they're 2-3 inches long...
thanks

~Goes to google and searches "mink"~

why are they all euthanised?

im no expert but id say it would probaly be a better idia to stick to Captive bred mice?

If the pinks are 2-3 inches I imagine the corn would have to be close to adult size to get it down.

go to google

yes do like ryan said and go to google and how long is that corn sanke you have got ryan and how thick is it please

he said they kill most of them because there are so many, they don't have enough room to raise all the babies. I'm no expert, just go by what I hear.

I can't imagine there being anything wrong with using them, as long as they are healthy and don't have parasites. As long as you have a consistent supply it wouldn't matter if your snake decided it preferred them over mice.

One question though - why would you want them before they were euthanised? Surely euthanised and frozen would be preferable? Mink can be extremely vicious, I certainly wouldn't want to risk a live one in with any snake of mine!

At 2-3 inches long, they'll be about the same size as a rat weaner? An adult corn should be able to deal with that size.

well the stuff they use to euthanise could end up killing the snake... (they use injection if i remember correctly..)

so he can get the live "pink mink" and put it in a co2 chamber then freeze... best way IMO

"When the babies are born, they are the size of pea pods. Their eyes are closed, and they can't hear at all. The baby mink has very little fine, light hair, and they weight about 1/2 oz."

I don't know how BIG of a pea pod they are as big as....... I can't imagine they're too big. IF I was feeding the snake baby mink, I don't think I'd worry too much about it attacking the snake. I imagine it's about the same as a pink mice.
But pea pods I've seen aren't that big around. think they'd be okay?

i would stick to mice, and what if he stopped breeding minks.then u'd have a problem feeder from switching food items
