fully weaned

I think mine were weaned after about 3-4 weeks when there eyes were fully open and just started to eat solids i took them out. one of the others wil be able to say if this is right.

Fully weaned, I would say 4 weeks. Doesn't hurt to leave them with mother until 5 weeks. At 5 weeks you should separate the genders.

i leave mine till their eyes are open and i see they've been eating solids and drinking from the bottle. so just between 3 1/2-4 weeks

My research suggests ( you guys tired of that phrase yet :bang: )
That you leave the mice in till they are between 21 and 28 days old. I have removed all the ones I weaned and kept at around 24 days with no ill effects. On the contrary, the lil buggers are thriving well as pets to my wife and kids :shrugs: )

While rats can be called weaned at 3 weeks old they arent actually weaned until about 5 weeks. They will start to eat some solid food shortly after opening their eyes and this is why they are thought to be weaned.

The females usually wont start kicking the pups off until about 4.5 weeks. And while you can successfully pull them at 3 weeks they are missing out on alot of growth. I've also had pups nurse up to about 7 weeks of age while being kept in a colony that had pinks and fuzzies in it.
