Fun Saturday Outing

I went to my favorite herp shop today to pick up some snake dinners and got treated to something special!

I'm so glad my fave shop is a 20 minute drive, as I would be there ALL the time and probably purchase half the inventory everytime I went in. Anyhow, I went and took my time looking at their "hots" displays (they keep quite a few diverse species of venomous animals from around the world for educational purposes) and drooled over their 14.5' albino burmese python. Got my rodents, got some bugs for the beardies, etc, etc...

Welp, I just happened to be there at the right time! It was feeding time for the Gaboon Viper! I'm still kicking myself for not having a camera. The gaboon was just beautiful and mean as all get-out. He was a lot bigger than I remembered him being last time I was there several months ago. I boggle at the thought of my boss keeping a breeding pair of those guys in his house.

I was so excited about getting to see the viper in action that I had to share it with people who might appreciate such an experience. My boyfriend and roommate weren't really able to understand why, so I figured I'd ramble about it here! It SO made my day! :D
