Am planning to get a snake. I want it to be not so long and i live in miami so it is kind of hot. what do you recomened

You don't want a long snake? What does that have to do with the heat in Miami? Really, I'm not entirely sure what sort of recommendation you are looking for unless you want to know what morphs are short and heat-tolerant

well i don't really care about the size about 1and 1/2 feet. i was looking at the california king snake is that a good choice

This question would be best suited for the "general chit-chat" forum. You aren't going to find a 1.5' corn. If you're interested in kings and others that might be in the size range you want, you should ask your question elsewhere. This sub-forum is for husbandry questions regarding corns. And I really don't have any firsthand experience outside of corns to comment on the lengths of other species.
