Gap in rear of vivarium-- how to fill?

In the rear of the water dragon viv I am building, I ended up with a significant gap. I was hoping it would be slightly less than this-- it's just under pencil width, maybe 1/4"? Think I can fill it with foam? I was planning on doing some background sections out of Great Stuff foam anyway.

I would use the Great Stuff in the black can. That one is made for large gaps and should work fine.

Large lizards, naturally, have large claws. Because of this, I would recommend using whatever extra wood you have to fill the gap. Wood glue then some smaller nails? Whatever works :)

Sorry, I meant to right that because of the large claws, foam or softer woods are known to be dug out by many large lizards.
