Gerbils?

Anyone have/had/heard of a corn that will only eat gerbils? I've got a baby blizzard. she didn't eat for 2 weeks after I got her, (tried f/t everyday, braining, chicken broth and live) and finally, I went to try another live pinkie, and all the store had was a pinkie gerbil. She attacked within 20 seconds. So, I figure my problems are done. AND I go buy a mouse colony. lo and behold, after trying a pinkie mouse yesterday, she will have nothing to do with it.

I'm going back to the pet store tomorrow to see if they have more pinkie gerbils, or even hamsters, to verify that she simply won't eat mice.

Is this common?

Gerbils/hamsters are kind of snake caviar. Very high end stuff. :)

Would it be an option to keep a gerbil (frozen or live) and use it to scent mouse pinks?

possibly, although... i have a suspicion it's the noise the gerbil makes that gets wraith's attention. any thoughts on that? At any rate, I don't mind breeding gerbils. It's not like the other snakes cares. she'd eat a frozed mouse if I gave it to her so...

It could be the noise/movement, but like feeding live in general, older animals can injure your snake. As I see it, it's in your best interest to try to get her on frozen/thawed or pre-killed prey. It couldn't hurt to try scenting.
