Getting back into snake care!

Hissssssss
I haven't had a pet snake in about 20 years. Back then, my younger brother and I raised a ball python and a red tail boa. When I moved out when I was 21, the snakes were about 13 years old. My brother continued to care for them until they were both well into their twenties. I was sad when they died (about a year apart), but they led a good, long life and provided many of my family and friends with countless hours of fascination and dare I say - affection? I found the whole "snake as a pet" thing to be very rewarding.

With that in mind, I can't figure out why I've been away for so long! My older son (he's 17) and I did the lizard thing when he was 6 to 10 years old. That was OK. I took my younger son (he's 13) to this dog expo thing that we were passing on a Saturday afternoon. The whol expo was geared towards dogs, but in the far corner there was a booth from the Chicago Herp Society (I live in the Chicago burbs). They had some snakes out for people to handle, and my son was hooked. My snake memories all came back to me and I told him that we'd hit the reptile show that comes around twice a month. Well, that was two months ago, and here I am with a baby ball, a baby red tail boa, and two juvenille corns! My nephew has also bought a beautiful snow corn!

The baby ball and baby boa are great, but I've been there, done that. The boys are taking care of them with my help. I was attracted to the different morphs in the corns. I bought a charcoal and what appears to be a normal, but it's markings look too vivid, bright, and bold to be a simple normal. I've been looking for similar pics online, but that has only left me a little more frustrated than when I started. I'll post a pic in these forums and I'm sure I'll get an answer!

Sorry for being so long, but I found these forums to be extremely helpful in learning how to care for my corns. I'll be posting regularly as I see this whole group as a group of people dedicated to our unique and enjoyable hobby. Take Care!

Ed

Hello Ed, welcome.
The group here is not only dedicated to the hobby, they're also kind of dedicated to helping other people in the hobby take care of their snakes.

I've noticed how willing everyone is to jump in and help! Thanks for the welcome and I look forward to learning from everyone. I took some pics earlier tonight, but Lucifer wouldn't sit still for a good, clear shot. I'll try again in the morning when he's a bit calmer. I have 2 OK photos that I'll post in the picture forum.
