My little stubborn Motley finally ate on his own :crazy02:

Bad news is that I sacrificed a live anole. I could have tried the skin on the pinky thing, but I ran out of pinkies and thought, "What the heck" and my husband went out and brought home a live anole today. He put it in the feeding container with Motley and TEN minutes later, Motley was coiled around the anole and promptly swallowed it.

Now, I am going to 'back-track' on my methods and try a anole SCENTED pinky next time. Can anyone give me advice on how to convert a snake who apparently has a huge aversion to pinkys to switch back to them after eating (and relishing) a live anole??? The little buggers are too expensive to use week after week.

I am HUGELY relieved he ate on his own though :grin01:
 
WHY DON'T MY POSTS HAVE AN "EDIT" BUTTON??

I cannot figure how to edit/delete my posts without a button to do so. I looked in the FAQ section that showed the edit button. NONE of my posts have that anywhere. Why?
 
I may not be correct but I think you can only edit if you are a contributing member??

I'm glad you got him eating something. It sounds like you're on the right track concerning conversion to pinks. Euthanize an anole and thaw the head enough to get the mouth open and rub the pink's head around in the saliva. Bits of wet anole skin stuck to the pink will help too. You can use the same anole a number of times.

You are correct. :) And one other thing: in your sig line you list your pets by males.females.unknown. You don't typically use that last character place (the unknown spot) unless you have unknowns. So if you have one female dog, just type 0.1 dog, not 0.1.0 dog. (Just a little fyi.)
