Going Away For The Weekend

So I'm leaving this Friday morning for a weekend trip and am comming back Monday. It's a short trip so I plan on leaving my new corn here at home. I just have a few questions as well as would like to hear any advise or expierience on leaving the snake at home. I just got her the 21st of July, so she's still a baby. And I'm a first time 'mom' so my anxiety is up past the ceiling lol.

Ok, first, I fed her this past Saturday. Now, I'm leaving Friday anywhere from 6:30 to 7am, so I was wondering if feeding her that early in the morning will be alright?

Other question: Will her water dish be enough? If I fill it close to the top will that be okay or should I leave another small container with some more water? Then I worry about the humidity because it's also been raining almost every other day here.

Aside from that, I have a thermostate to keep control over the heated side of the tank. The reptile cage I have has a little snap thing that I push down when it slides all the way to the back, but I worry still about her possibly excaping. Especially since a week ago when I came home from work, I found her utilizing the thermostate cord as leverage to cram herself into the corner. There wasn't room for her to get out, I just get paranoid. So I was going to put a piece of scotch tape along that edge, just in double-case. Yeah, talk about paranoid.

I wish I had someone around me who I could at least have come around, just to check things like the temp and see how she is. Even if it is a 2-3 day trip. But, alas, the one friend who I would trust most is away.

My gosh, sorry for the length, I just wanted to make things clear. I'm going to miss the heck out of her lol, she's sleeping in my shirt right now. Such a sweetie.

Either feed her Thursday or on Monday. A few days one way or the other won’t make any difference. One water bowl will be fine.

Put a wind up clock in with her. The ticking of the clock will remind her or her mothers heart beat and help to calm her. Also put a piece of your clothing in her viv. Maybe a soiled sock. Something that will smell like you. Make sure she knows that this is just temporary and that you will be back. Maybe you could record yourself humming a tune and then leave it running while you are gone.

If you can find a piece of rope about the same size as your snake you could take that with you to kind of keep you company.

I'd feed her Thursday night, too. In addition, I'd put in two water bowls, just in case she poops in one.

Ok. Wow . Thanks lol. I'll be sure to do all of that. No, really. Seriously.

Guess you're telling me I worry too much.

I travel a lot...sometimes I'm only home 10 days in a month. That's what attracted me to snakes to begin with...reptiles are the only pets I can have that I only feed every two weeks lol. I wouldn't worry. Leaving a second water dish is a great idea...Nanci has a lot of 'em!
