Known affectionately as "Little Man," Gabriel was my baby. I'd had him since the day he was born. His mom was tiny, and she got so big, we thought she'd have at least 8 kittens. He was the only one. He was such a big cat, we joked that he ate his siblings in the womb. He was every bit of 30 pounds. Though a little bit of it was chunk, he was just generally massive. He was always a hunter, and unfortunately nailed a bird that was riddled with toxoplasm. We did everything we could. Hospitalization, IV antibiotics, feeding tubes... you name it, and I tried it. He finally succumbed to hepatic and renal failure today, and death took him from me far too soon.

Goodbye my sweet sweet boy. The world will never see another kitty like you. I love you Gabriel :(

Oh no! I'm so sorry! He certainly was a gorgeous cat and he looked like he led a very wonderful life with y'all. RIP "Little Man." :(
 
So very very sorry to hear of your loss, he was beautiful! Kitties hold a special place in my life too, so I know how hard it is to loose them.
 
I am so very sorry for your loss, Catherine. He was a beautiful boy and I'm sure he had a fabulous life with you.
 
What a beautiful cat... SO sorry!!! What a tragic loss, and to lose him so unexpectedly is just heart breaking. Best wishes to you!!! R.I.P "Little Man"!!!

I'm so sorry for your loss!! My rabbit passed from renal failure earlier this year, and it was very, very difficult to treat and watch. It just doesn't seem fair sometimes....your family is in my thoughts! :(
 
Thank you everyone for your kind words. This is indeed much harder than I ever expected it to be :( The house already feels entirely too empty without him, and I am at a loss without my baby boy clamoring at my feet
