got question about my 4 year old normal male

boobookity

newbie
he usually eats every 7 days like clockwork and he has totally ignored his mouse for last 2 days. he seems to more interested in escaping his tank and exploring everything them being hungry. i dont know if i should be concerned. the guy at the pet shop suggested we feed him a2 chicks last feeding as a treat so we did, but he only ate one. now im trying to give him his mouse and he acts like its not there. i dont know if i should be concerned or if he just reacting to mating season and maybe he smells a female outside or if maybe the baby we have in the other tank could have been sexed wrong and he is smelling her?? we were told he was a male tho.. and i think he too young to go in heat but im a newbie so i dont know for sure!!! somebody please help before i go nuts!!

oh yeah and i forgot to mention that we attempted to feed him the second chick and he was in process of swallowing it and for sum reason he regurgitated it.. didnt want it after that so i figured he must b too full..but then again im not sure..

- They become sexually mature around 3 years old, so he's plenty old enough to go on a breeding season fast. The presence of a female is irrelevant. Male Corns that are the only snake in a house, can still do this.

- As per your posts on the other threads, temps could be too hot. You mentioned that you were using an unregulated heat lamp as a heat source, as a UTH had malfunctioned.

- If he was disturbed during his last meal (seems likely, as he part swallowed a chick then immediately brought it back up), he may be nervous about eating while you're watching. Offer his normal food just before you go to bed, and leave it with him overnight. The absolute dark and quiet might make him feel safer.

thank you so much i will definitely try that and we will be getting the heating regulated better on payday since reading everybody posts we have gotten better understanding of what is needed so thanks again
