Hey everyone,
It's been a little while since I've been on the site, and I figured I was overdue for some updates. I'll try and be better about posting under one thread, so I'll make this my official update thread from now on. And I'll try to get some better photos of these guys up soon as well.
For now, I mostly just wanted to take some reference photos of these guys to show of some of their sides. They aren't the greatest photos by any stretch, but I hope they can provide enough reference to show what I find so interesting about several of them.
Here's arguably the most diffused of the clutch, showing some of his diffusion/white sides. As you can see, there is some 'stitching' of the pattern showing between the sides and belly, underneath the diffusion. But other than that subtle stretch of stitching, the rest of his 1st half goes from clear belly to white sides/diffusion, without any stitching whatsoever.
Here's a more noticeable example of his/her sides.
It may be hard to tell here, but this is a closeup of part of the sides, that appear to be clear/translucent (see the dark blue organs). Of the blood red and granite babies that I've previously gotten, I haven't seen such dramatic diffusion, or such noticeable translucence as in these. Even in their parents. In person, you can see the organs of these guys in minimal light. Which, as it is with the other 'typical' looking granite clutch mates, you can't see through the sides or belly whatsoever.
Another decent reference of the sides.
A shot from one of the other babies, showing the clear transition from belly to side, without any pattern interfering (with the exception of a spec).
The more 'typical' looking granite (notice the patterning on the sides, as well as the 'stitching' appearance at the base of the sides, between the belly scales and sides.
And lastly, a shot comparison of the sides of both. First is the shot of the typical looking granite, and second is of one of the unusual ones. Notice the stitching between the sides on the first, as well as the difference in color on the bellies. The first is a stark white, with no breakup. The second, which may be hard to tell in a photo, is the strange translucent looking belly.
Typical Granite belly..
The more diffused..
^ On some parts of the really diffused babies, it's even more dramatic of a belly. But it was hard enough to get a stable photo of the belly in the light, so I figured this example would suffice.
Anyways.. Sorry to bore everyone with the details and descriptions. I'll look to put up actual photos of these guys soon (not just reference ones).
Thanks for looking!
