(graphic) 1 egg with slug and baby inside :(

THUG FROG !
This was my last egg in my last clutch to hatch. After giving this big fat egg a few more days to hatch I noticed the egg was slit but no movement inside. I decided to open the egg and found this. A almost perfectly formed hatchling dead and what appears to be a slug inside! The poor little guy was alive long enough to slit its shell but died after. Its head is under the body where the red arrow is. Its body is in 2 parts. Odd for sure. Even though the white mass occupied most of the egg I would estimate that the hatchling still would be around 4 grams. :awcrap:

Twins gone awry? Thanks for sharing. It's always fascinating and gives a greater appreciation for those that make it. Life really is a miracle. RIP little one.

Sad ending for a brief spark of life. It's probably a good thing the poor hatchling DIDN'T survive in this case!

Thanx for sharing daddio!!

How ya been?
