Green Blotched Snow?

What exactly is a green blotched snow? Is it a simple recessive trait, or is it a snow corn that has been selectively bred to have yellow-green blotches?

I recently purchased an 04 snow corn from a local reptile retailer. I was considering the purchase of another snow so that I have a breeding pair. They do have one green blotched snow that I was thinking about purchasing, but it is almost twice the cost of the normal snow corn.

My main question is: If you crossed a normal snow corn with a green blotched snow, what would you get? Would the offspring be somewhere between a normal snow corn and a green blotched snow, or would they be normal snows het for green blotched snow?

Thanks in advance,

Justin

Nobody has worked out the mechanism behind the look. It may or may not be a single gene at work, but my guess is that it's selective breeding. Otherwise I'd hope that some of the larger breeders who make them would have noticed such inheritance patterns by now. ;)

My '03 1.0 snow has green borders around his saddles when you look at him in the sunlight and it's quite a striking look. Other than that, he's just a regular snow with the apricots, yellows and pinks through his pattern-I think he's beautiful!! I've often wondered myself if it would be worthwhile trying to cultivate this look by pairing him with a definate 'green blotched' female....I'd love to know more about this feature too...
