Hello to all, I be new here.

Looking to get my very first cornsnake at the Rocky Mtn. Reptile Expo Aug. 4th. I've had red checkered garter snakes before, so I'm used to the small slithery type, but I've heard corns are more handleable, which I like.

So, see you around the forums!

love my corn snake

I got a corn snake in Feb for my 8 yr old son and as you can tell by my name I was not used to snakes. My boyfriend breeds snakes and lizzards and they talked me into a cute little corn snake at the reptile show in Kalamazoo, Mi.
My son decided to name him Elvis , so he can say Elvis has left the building if he gets out. (I was not thrilled with this concept  ) Well anyway 5 months later I am getting into the whole snake thing and very curious . I would love to go to another reptile show they are great!. Next year we hope to have a booth of our own. My son's snake has litterally become my snake , I take care of him and show him the attention and love he deserves. He has beautiful markings and a great disposition . He has never showed any aggression and loves to be held. I am still working on taking him out of the tank on my own but still haven't gotten up the nerve . (I don't know whos more skiddish him or me  ) Anyway when my boyfriend hands him to me I am just fine handling him .I think corns snakes are a great choice for a first time snake owner. He teases me and calls me girlygirl, but the girls at work give me a lot of credit and can't believe I can deal with all those snakes. They said they would have been long gone ,so I can't be to much of a girlygirl
