Lavman breeder

I just witnessed something I've never seen before. I've seen male corns get on top of males many times during breeding season. All the textbooks that tell you this is a way to see if the unknown adult is a male or female is poppycock. Well, This morning, I needed to put my large male motley lavender (breeding machine) somewhere quick so I put him into my 20 gallon terrarium with my large male Piebald Candycane. Not 5 minutes I look over and see my male candy cane on top of my "Serpenco" Motley lave male with his productive organ inserted into my MALE Motley Lavender! I watch them for a minute and notice the male lavender does not seem to mind at all! Finally, I invervene because I don't want my Candycane's semen wasted on a male so I gently stroke my candy's back to get him to pull out and finally he does with some spillage!

I guess it happens in the wild with other animals so I shouldn't be so suprised, I've just never seen two male snakes go all the way!

I don't agree with you 100% as I've seen males fight with each other many times. Usually the more dominant male will press down on the other males head and body with his and some strong constriction will sometimes happen towards the tail area.

I’ve done that. Haven’t you ever gotten really caught up in the moment, maybe a little too much tequila, feeling a little lonely?

LOL! Personally I think sometimes males will think another male is a female. His scales were rippling like he was trying to convince him of his intentions, it didn't seem like a show of dominance in any way. But, I can't read their minds so I very well could be wrong.

As I stated, I was just putting him somewhere temporarily, (like for 10 minutes) and most males will not fight, especially when there is no female in the same cage.

:roflmao:OMG Wade! That was too funny! When ever I need a laugh you are there. ;)

Ok, Here are a few pics. I'm not sure if piebald is the correct term to use or not? Maybe some of you can tell me? The pictures do not give a really good portrayal of how it looks. Maybe the correct term is "frosted"?

The use of Pied is what was throwing me off. I think Frosted describes him well. Frosted often refers to a hybrid though, so you might be better off just calling him an Amel.
