Grrr... wiring flexwatt in a series?

Ok.. I have literally been searching high and low all day looking for step-by-step instructions on how to wire flexwatt in a series, rather than parallel, yet they don't seem to exist. I have searched more forums than I can recall and while I see it mentioned a lot, there is not a single thread that I've found that goes into detail about wiring it in a series!

I have 3" flexwatt (temporary, but will have to do for now) that I am trying to wire vertically along the back of my rack. I'm doing two strips that will be 4' high each along the back, and I just need to figure out the right way to wire them because I'll be soldering them and don't want to screw 'em up!

Thanks for the help guys! I'm not electrically inclined at all and I'd really like to not burn the house down....

If you're running it vertically, with only two strips, I'd just run it off of two plugs. Both of these can be plugged into a power strip which is in turn plugged into a thermostat. I ran a rack with ten strips for belly heat (in a series), and can take a pic of that, but I swear I would never do it again!

Thanks elrojo. I'd really prefer to do it with just one plug, though. I did a little diagram to show you which particular steps are confusing me.

The main thing I need to know is if it matters at all which way the diagonal heat stripes are facing on either strip, and which point to hook the wires up to. I'm not sure if I should attach left to left or left to right... you get the idea. Just those few things have me stumped.

The second picture is the way I do it, assuming the same sides are facing up. If I understand your drawing correctly though, you could wire it the first way too, as long as one of the flex watt pieces is upside down. Hope that makes sense..

Thanks tom. So basically the diagonals should face the same way and left to right, right to left. I think I'm figuring it out.

Basically something like that? I'm picturing it as one piece of flexwatt bent in half as to how the wires connect.

I think I've got it figured out now... we shall see. Thanks!
