Habistat 600 watt help needed

FirstCorn

I have been browsing the internet to find myself a cheap habistat for my corn snake. I have found a 600 watt one for a really low price and am thinking of purchasing it. What I would like to now is what is the difference between a 600 watt and a 300 watt? Is the 600 too powerful for my snake or will it be ok ? or shall I look for a 300 watt?
I have no idea about habistats and this may sound like a stupid question so any help would be really appriciated, Thanks

If the 600watt Habistat Thermostat you're looking at is the "Pulse Proportional Thermostat" then yes you can use it for any size heat mat, but if it is the "Dimming Thermostat", then the minimum wattage of the heat mat has to be over 40watts.

Here's a couple of links that you might find useful about Habistats, the first one is a Frequently Asked Questions sheet and the second is the Habistat website..........

Hope that helps you some :)

Thank you susielea for the links. It is 600watt the Pulse Proportional Thermostat that I am looking at, the price I have found is alot lower than most websites I have found so I might look into purchasing one soon.

You're welcome :)

I use Habistat Temperature Thermostats, Mat Stats and Dimming Thermostats, all for different purposes and have found them to be very reliable. I've not used the Pulse Proportional Thermostats yet, but have not heard a bad thing about them :)

Would you mind if I asked where you've seen them and at what price? I might be tempted to get one if the price was right ;)
