I was wondering if everyone could share some pictures of their snakes home. In the next month or two I want to move my guy from his ten gallon to my 29gal but I am pretty oblivious to how his home should look. I've heard hiding spot in heat and cold. My tank is currently too small for that, though he hides in the cold area under either aspen or water dish.
Also is Aspen the best? I had someone at the pet store, that has pythons recommend something else but i can't remember what it was.

This is what his current cage is. I know I need better thermostats, working on that!

This is what my tanks look like, for both my boys. These are 10gals as well =)

I have a hide on each side, which is recommended... Behind/under the branch is his water dish- They tend to like the cage somewhat cluttered, it makes them feel more secure.
I honestly haven't used any bedding other than aspen, it really varies for snakes.
What is best for a ball python might not be the best choice for a corn snake, unless it's something simple like shredded newspapers or repti-carpet, which are kinda universal beddings in a way lol.

I think your tank looks good- maybe try to add a small hide on the cool side? Something as simple as a paper towel tube with some aspen tossed in is like, heaven for them lol my Opal is in his almost 24/7, he goes in and out, he loves it!

Really?! I'll totally try that! I like the look of your tank. I had no idea there was so much room haha. I'll see what I can find for him! Thank you

Hey no problem =)
I find it a lot of fun to play around with different looks for their tanks!

20 gallon long. UTH under left side. LED bulb on timer for daylight cycle.

(There is a well hidden snake in the vine in the left corner)

Here's the most recent pic of my whole viv:

I've added some dinosaurs since then :) I also switched out his water dish. The other one was used and looked really moldy/gross.

DollysMom and I pretty much have the same plants in our vivs. That's kinda crazy :)

All three types you can buy on amazon. Here's a good place to start:
http://www.amazon.com/Exo-Terra-Pla...TF8&qid=1437758163&sr=1-10&keywords=exo+terra

Yeah, all my plants are Exo-Terra. The vines have good suction cups and they come in good sizes. My vines are all small because my viv is 12 inches high. On a 29 gallon, assuming it is 18 inches tall, I'd go with medium if you get any of the Exo-Terra vines. Dolly's favorite is the first one I got. As I write this he's still sleeping in it. So cute. By the way the vines count as hides, though I like having logs, caves, or other more enclosed hides as well.

This is the cage I have for my corn he's 6 years old and the cage is 20.5 gallons (30.25X12.5X12.5)

So he has a paper towel roll! Interesting. I'll have to save mine next time for Samson.

I want to verify I do not need a light right? Our living room is pretty well lit so there is no issue from morning and night.

I had someone at the pet store tell me I needed the $50 uva/uvb light.

Pretty much everyone in here ditches the light- unless their home temperatures absolutely require them to have it- You do not need one normally. A heat mat is just fine. Sometimes the heat lamps can burn a corn snake's scales, as it's a very hot and concentrated amount of heat.

As you can see from my pic my room is pretty dark so I use an LED bulb on a timer to make sure I have a daylight cycle. Room lighting does just as well as putting it at the viv like I did. No UVB and no heat lamps needed. In fact I started with an incandescent bulb but changed to LED to make sure the light was not causing heating.

I have a 29 gallon tank for my almost 6 year old. The green thing to the right of her water bowl is a humidity hide to help with shedding. Also, there are some paper towel tubes in the back you can't see that she loves.
