Hey everyone,

I just shot some photos of one of my new additions last night, and thought I'd share.

He's a Sunkissed Bloodred 66% het Caramel, 50% het Amel, that I purchased as part of a pair from Walter Smith (the other a Caramel Blood female, het SK).

Usually I look at the classifieds ads when I'm on, just to admire them, but several weeks ago Walter had run a Super Sunkissed Sale ad (as some of you may know). And, in my typical investigation mode, I couldn't help but go to his site (which looks great, BTW) to search over all of his amazing animals twice (then twice more). I had opened up his page more as a photo galley to "aww" over. But, unlike how it usually is for me when a good deal pops up, I was actually fortunate enough to have already had some money saved for the reptile show that took place that same weekend. So I kept an open mind :dgrin:...

I was excited to see what might be at the show, but the second I saw this guy on Walter's page I messaged him. I might be picking favorites a little early, but his face stole the money right out of my pocket (I swear.. wasn't even in my control). And before I knew it, the money I had saved up for the reptile show had become crickets.

Anyways.. here he is.

There's just something very special about the way that he looks, to me. And I love how the Bloodred gene works with Sunkissed. There isn't as much diffusion as is with some other BR morphs, but the color on him glows (photos don't do much justice), and his pattern is just incredible (especially on his head).

*I'll be posting more photos (of both) in the next couple of days. Just waiting on the female to shed. But thank you for looking :D!

Also, want to add quickly. Thanks again to Walter, for making these available. I know that the Corn Snake market isn't great right now, and it's to Walter's misfortune to have to sell such amazing animals at such low prices. But he was really a great guy to deal with (I truly mean it). He was incredibly patient with me, as I held him up even after the sale ended to have the money order arrive, and he was still nothing but helpful. Not only a great deal, but top-notch quality and service.

There's no way that I could have otherwise ended up with such amazing animals, and I am so thankful to be able to have such an outstanding pair to enjoy/work with. And thank you again, Walter, very much!

Awesome addition. I'm a big fan of Sunbloods!! Congrats and thanks for sharing!!

I posted my Hypo Sunkissed Bloodred a few days ago but it seems nobody was really interested in her xD

Haaaahaa thanks for your pity & and the answer in my thread :D

her brother should shed tonight, he's a sunkissed aneryblood het hypo - keep your eyes open!

Absolutely beautiful! I was looking at the vendors for the upcoming Repticon in Columbia, SC, and it says that Walter will be there. Needless to say, I am very excited. I will likely be getting my first corn from him!

No, thank you.. for the $5 you Pay-Pal'd me for leaving a post ;)! lol.

Honestly, I hardly check the photo gallery. Or, if I do, it seems like I visited the site in between, so it doesn't show up in bold as new. So I appreciate you mentioning it. And I will definitely be on the lookout for your next post.

I'm one of those people that loves looking at other people's Corn Snakes, especially if it's a morph that I'm interested in. And for whatever reason you actually always seem to have/post my favorite morphs/snakes.

Off topic a little.. but it seems that breeders overseas are often the ones with my favorite snakes/morphs (in general). Not sure if it's more of a selective breeding vs morph thing between the Corn Snake cultures. Or just a uniquely separate interest in certain morphs. But I tend to find that most of the people with the really, really nice Bloodreds/morphs (my favorite morph overall), and certain others, are not from the USA. At least from what's posted on here, that I've noticed.

Honestly, I've quite gotten quite a few snakes from different breeders (in general), and Walter is definitely someone that I would love to purchase from again. I've always liked the animals that he's posted on here, strictly for how nice/healthy they look. And he not only gave me some amazing looking snakes, but he was personally great to deal with.. VERY helpful and quick to respond.

And if he's going to be at the show, you'll benefit from not having to pay the shipping costs too. Best of luck!

I was truly thrilled to pieces to find out he'd be there. Seen alot of people with his snakes, saying what a great guy he is to deal with.

Not having to pay shipping is definitely a bonus!

What a lovely snake, and how nice to read about your dealings with Walter being such a good experience.

Add me to the list of Walter's happy customers. And I love that little freckle faced ginger snake lol.

oh my glob, that head pattern is gorgeous! ill be getting my first snake in a week at a repticon in my area, im keeping my eye for one as beautiful as this!

Thank you :)!

Congratulations Weda!.. I'm sure you'll be very happy! PS: Pictures, lol! Inquiring minds (always) want to know.

And good luck with your first snake search as well, Boycet. Feel free to leave an update in here when you finally do get one, so I'll have the notification to check it out.

Thanks, i'll make sure to do that, im super excited for it and simply cannot wait. ill make sure to make a thread in here for it also.

What a pretty snake!! I love his head pattern!!! Is he friendly? I only had a SKBR as a visitor, for a couple years. She started out as the fiercest hatchling ever, but one day she woke up and was sweet as pie from then on.

Nice Boycet! I have the same stamp on my hand today! Your girl is beautiful. Who'd you get her from? I got a pied bloodred from Walter today. About to go post pictures.

Oh i forget who i got it from, this one guy in the middle, he had a clutch of Blood reds for 30, he gave this girl for 25. He said he was a big fan of Rat snakes, really nice guy, had some facial hair and such, cant remember his name though.

Very nice pickup, Boycet!

I love Blood Red's. The color changes as they grow (as you'll see with yours) is just fun to watch develop.

I've been meaning to get photos up of my Caramel Blood as well. And she just shed not too long ago. So I'll try to take some of her now, while it's on my mind. Thank you all for posting too :)!
