Half or full pinkie

I got my first corn snakes a couple weeks ago and i have been trying to feed him. I read that cutting the back of the pinkie helps the snake get more interested, so i tried it. I left my snake with the mouse over night. when i woke up i found half the mouse had its flesh torn of the bones and, that flesh was eaten by the snake.

Did the snake only want to eat half of it or did the mouse tear where the cuts wear and the snake just eat what he had. (the snake is about 1/4in. wide, 1cm tall, and around 1ft. long. rough estimate.)

Umm.. I dont know what to tell you about the flesh. So your snake was not eating in the first place and you decided to cut the pinkie? I dont know why any snake would just eat a little piece of pinkie. Its either he eats it or he leaves it. I dont know what happen to the pinkie. Try feeding him again when its his feeding day. Goood Luck

Sounds to me like he grabbed where it was cut and it gave way and he swallowed that part. Being as small as you describe I personally would feed half pinks for a while. I know that technically the snake should be able to take a whole pink but sometimes they just need some time to build up to it.

Second feeding my little Jewel had with me she regurged. No clue why, I assumed it was because feeder size was too big for her, a full pink stretched her past 1.5 times her normal size. So I fed just a head for 3 feeds, then the remaining parts of those pinks for 3 more feeds, then tried a whole pink again. Now she is on double pinks :)
