Handeling after blue phase?

I have got conflicting views on handeling a snake after there eyes turn clear, but havent shed yet. This will be my snakes first shed sense i have had him and I dont want to complicate it any. I have heard that it is fine to handle a snake after there eyes turn clear. Is this true or does it still put a lot of stress on them from still being in a shed. Sorry a bit new to this.

It depends on the snake really. 1 of mine wont be handled and will tag me and get stress out very easily if handled while blue. My other 2 however are both fine with being handled while blue, but personally i tend to leave them alone unless necessary when shedding, so they can relax and shed in peace.

Get to know your snake before handling him/her in shed so you can gauge the mood better when in blue.

Good luck with what you deside, and welcome to the forum.

:wavey: welcome

another thing whilst your snake is due to shed, bear in mind that obviously the skin is preparing to come off, therefore it feels tight (kind of like having an item of clothing 2 sizes too small for you), the snake can feel irritated, uncompfortable and snappy. also if you do handle him through any part of the shed cycle you have to be careful not to rip the skin before it is actually ready to come off, this can damage its new skin too.
good luck and hope this helps
:D

Thanks, I didnt think it would be the best thing. Thats why i was making sure. I dont want to hurt him in anyway.

Is this like snake PMS?

Oy! I'm so bloated, does this skin make me look fat? Where's the Midol?
