Handling after feeding..

How long after feeding my snake until i can handle it? Does it need to fully digest the food or can i just pick him up?

thanks

You can pick the snake up gently after the food is in its stomach. You know this has happened because the prey quits moving. If you feed it in a separate place from its viv (usually recommended) you can pick it up gently to return it to its home.

Actual handling periods aren't recommended until 48 hours after feeding. This prevents potential injury or regurges. That doesn't mean you can't touch the snake to move it; they're not THAT fragile or they'd never survive in nature. Hope that helps.

48 hours is usually the recommended time to leave the snake be after feeding. You can handle the snake before then, but it usually isn't a good idea since you could accidentally induce a regurgitation.
