Handling - How often?

The kids and I love handling the little guy....how much is too much? Is daily, but not within two days after feeding OK? We've been going 10 to 15 minutes at a time.....Too much? The snake is VERY calm when handled.

Our snakes get handled daily (minus the 48-hours post feeding). Some tolerate it better, some make it clear that they don't want handled (our younger male is sometimes good about coming out, other times he tries his hardest to jump from our hands and get back in his enclosure). If your snake is calm and not struggling to escape, I'd be of the opinion that you're not overdoing it.

Ten to 15 minutes sounds reasonable, especially given that he's calm when being handled :)

c i kept looking out for the raising of the tail but mine doesnt do that. her tail or around her area starts to pulsates kinda like shes tryin to squeezeit out so look for that to

Sounds like you've got a good schedule for handling! You'll learn how your snake signals that it's gotta go... my corn goes very VERY still about ten seconds before he surprises me. :)

Emily does this too!!! It gives me just enough time to get a paper towel.

lol my corn does this aswell. I always have a small towel that is designated at hers on hand and as soon as i see the tail contractions i pop her onto the towel and save myself from a nasty stink on my t shirt etc.

i was doin that to but now instead i put her in a tub ofwater and let her move around that way she goes in the water preventing havinto cleanup anything or having to deal wit the smell.
